In many places, and from both sides of the homeless position i have witnessed one constant truth. Nobody in a position to make an effective change is willing to accept that holding the cracks together with plasters and passing off the responsibility is not, nor will it ever be a solution to the homeless problem. Its about time we all realised that the problems nearly always start with the person and the maintaining of accomodation can only be a positive result of dealing with the barriers whilst ensuring dignity, understanding and patience with most importantly a stable foundation to work from. Until our attitudes change from "they cant be helped, they drink, they do drugs" to "maybe with help we can get them through this" we are all simply guilty of holding people down whilst they drown in their problems and we fail! Just simply Fail!
