Arrangements for Meetings
What is happening with meetings?
The Council has returned to meetings in the Council Chamber.
Can the public attend these meetings?Yes, though we only have a limited amount of public seating available. When we have filled this (on a first come, first served basis) for each meeting we will not be able to admit anyone else unless others leaving create the opportunity to do so. Entry to all meetings is via the Council Chamber main doors and doors will be opened 15 minutes prior to the start of the meeting.
Is there a way I can watch a meeting without going to the council offices?
Yes. The Council had agreed to broadcast on our website the following meetings: Planning Committee, Cabinet, Council, Overview and Scrutiny Committee, Governance Committee and General Purposes Committee.
Can I watch a meeting after it has been broadcast?
No. The Council does not make recordings of any of its broadcast meetings.
Can I speak in person at meetings of the Planning Committee or Overview and Scrutiny Committee?
Yes, if you have registered to do so and subject to the limits on the number of speakers and the deadlines for registering to speak. You cannot register to speak before the agenda for the meeting is published. We would encourage all public speakers to leave the meeting after the conclusion of their item in order to free up space for other members of the public.
Please see the section on registering to speak for further details.
