Arrangements for Council Meetings
What is happening with meetings?
Following the end of the legislation that allowed for the council to hold remote online meetings we have returned to meeting in person in the Council Chamber.
Can the public attend these meetings?
Yes, where they are open to the public. However, we only have a limited amount of public seating available. When we have filled this (on a first come, first served basis) for each meeting we will not be able to admit anyone else unless others leaving create the opportunity to do so. Entry to all meetings is via the Council Chamber main doors and doors will be opened 15 minutes prior to the start of the meeting. A QR code is displayed for Track and Trace purposes and we would ask you to scan this on your NHS Covid App.
Do I have to wear a mask? No, but we strongly encourage the wearing of masks in meetings. The Council can provide a mask for you if you do not have one.
Is there another way I can watch a council meeting?
Yes. The Council had agreed to broadcast on our website the following meetings: Planning Committee, Cabinet, Council, Overview and Scrutiny Committee, Governance Committee and General Purposes Committee. A link to view these meetings live can be found on the web page for the agenda a couple of days prior to the meeting. Please note that the current broadcast arrangements are an interim measure until a more permanent solution can be installed.
Can I watch a meeting after it has been broadcast?
No. The Council does not make recordings of any of its broadcast meetings.
