Committees of the Council

The Cabinet is responsible for recommending an overall budget and the policies that make up the Council's policy framework to the full Council. The Cabinet is responsible for day-to-day decision-making, delivering and implementing the budget and policies that have been agreed by the Council, and is the focus for forming partnerships with other key organisations to address local needs.

The Council appoints a number of Committees, Sub-Committees and Advisory Groups to carry out functions not specifically within the remit of the Cabinet. Some of these are quasi-judicial and Members (including Substitute Members) who are appointed to these committees must have received appropriate training.
