Chris Vinson was first elected to represent Walmer in 2019 and has served on a number of Council committees including Overview and Scrutiny and Governance, and on the Cabinet where he was the Portfolio Holder for Finance, Governance, Digital and Climate Change until 2023.
He lives in Walmer and is passionate about local history and the natural environment. He enjoys spending time with his young family and playing the occasional round of golf.
Chris is a communications expert, Chartered PR practitioner and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. He holds an MBA from the University of Kent and has worked in the transport, energy and water utilities sectors.
Alongside his responsibilities at DDC, Chris is also a Local Government Association Member Peer, providing training and consultancy services to other councillors and local authorities around the country.
